Questions for God
Is God real? Is the Bible true? What do Christians believe? Why does God allow evil?
These are questions that non-Christians and Christians alike have been asking. A new book, “The God Questions,” was originally intended to enable Christians to invite friends to church. But pastors and co-authors Dr. Hal Seed and Dr. Dan Grider discovered that Christian believers were as unclear about biblical answers as their friends were.

Reporter Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, has been jailed for sedition, a crime punishable by death. What did Choudhury do? He advocated establishing peace with Jewish people and developing ties with Israel.
After demonstrating their commitment to open, honest debate of critical issues in the debacle with the Pope, this is the next logical step for Muslims.

Torture Lite
Let’s get some things straight. Nobody is a bad as the Nazi’s and Stalinist’s and “engaging in practices pretty close to torture” is not torture. One of the reasons America is politically debilitated is our propensity to use poetry rather than prose in our debates. We are more concerned with winning the argument than with stating the truth. You can thank postmodernism for this.
So, does torture work?
- Newsweek boldly says, “No,” for the most part at least.
- Slate grudgingly admits that “torture” has gained valuable knowledge that has stopped terrorist acts.
- USA Today baits the reader with a headline on torture but shows some journalistic integrity by stating that most methods called torture are in fact legal interrogation techniques.
If torture is wrong, will someone please tell me why it is wrong. If we are merely the product of random biological and evolutionary processes then I say torture ’em. For that matter, kill them before they can kill us.
Torture is wrong because all men are made in God’s image. Torture is wrong because honoring God’s commands is more important than the threat terrorism presents to our lives. Torture is wrong because truth is TRUTH and we should not abandon it because the circumstances are harsh.
To the whining, namby, pamby ACLU liberals – either stop denying God and the Bible as the basis for law, morality and ethics or get out the electrodes and wire ’em up.
To the hawkish conservatives – being pro-life covers more than babies and you should read the rest of the Bible story.
Hope in the Holy Land
Perhaps there will be peace in the Middle East. Mahmoud Abbas, a moderate, along with the militant Hamas, told a UN Ministers meeting their planned unity government will recognize Israel and renounce violence.
Many are scoffing at the possibility. I am rejoicing with hope and praying for the peace of Israel.
Perhaps this idea will collapse. Maybe it will never get off the ground. The discussions may fail before they even begin. Unless both sides at least try to reconcile, however, the world will remain in peril.
Pray for peace in the Holy Land.
Cartoonist Must Die
Muslims have revealed that they have a sensitive side. Any cartoon of the Prophet is forbidden and if you draw, print or read one they will have to kill you. They have no trouble killing Nuns, letting girls burn to death or breaking a child’s arm but a cartoon is just over the line.
I am so glad this man finally came to his senses. It will benefit us all.
Torture and the Geneva Convention
One view we might take would be to faithfully apply the Geneva Convention standards for the treatment of prisoners to countries that have committed to treat American prisoners by the Geneva standard. This would leave the terrorists ‘out in the cold’ so to speak.
Do Not Say that Islam is Violent
Has anyone actually read Pope Benedict’s recent speech? While the ancient reference to a 14th century Byzantine emperor was politically inept, it was part of a larger theme. More precisely, faith and reason are not only compatible but intertwined and that violence is not a good way to advance one’s spiritual convictions.
How do Muslims react? “Do not say that Islam is violent! If you say that Islam is violent, we will kill you and bomb the Vatican.”
There is an intense media effort to defend true Islam as peaceful. There is an equally concentrated attempt to condemn Christianity for every injury or death possible in the last 2000 years. So, when Muslim terrorist’s kill a Nun it barely warrants 2 column inches on page 8.
How do moderate Muslims react? Do they condemn such violence? Do they call on terrorists to cease perverting true Islam and cease their activities? Do they point to their scriptures and demonstrate the peaceful nature of their teacher? To all these things NO.
The silence from the moderate Muslim community is quite loud. So who is pushing this “True Islam is peaceful” theme? The Americans.
Let's Lower the Standards for Islam
Why does the world press give Muslims a free pass on outrageous behaviour? Why does the American press condemn Americans for slights both real and perceived but ignore shocking, even murderous, acts by Muslims?
