I was unaware that single mothers raising their children could cause a major problem for society. Then I read a book by Levitt and Dubner, entitled Freakonomics, and more recently a second by Ann Coulter, Guilty. Both books detail the hidden damage of single mothers on our society.

It appears eHarmony will have to change their entire business model in the face of lawsuits charging them with discrimination. eHarmony has been sued by a lesbian woman seeking to be matched with another women as well as a married man seeking an adulterous match. The latest lawsuit is a class-action suit in … California.
Neil Clark Warren, company founder, has repeatedly stated that he did not know enough about homosexual relationships to confidently match people together. Read more... (estimated 1:26 mins)

The Presidential election was not the only clear political signal on Tuesday. California has passed the controversial Proposition 8 denying same-sex couples the right to marry. Perhaps it was not so controversial after all.
Florida and Arizona also got in on the movement and defined marriage as between a man and a woman. It appears that same-sex couples that wed after a recent judges ruling will have their unions annulled.
Measures on the ballot designed to limit abortions were uniformly defeated. the Colorado initiative was crushed. Arkansas passed a ban on gay couples adopting children and the Colorado proposal to end Affirmative Action seems a dead heat the morning after while it passes handily in Nebraska. Medical marijuana will be arriving in Michigan. Read more... (estimated 31 secs)

I always like to comment on things happening in American culture and evaluate them from a Christian worldview. While politics has dominated my recent posts, I am not in any danger of becoming a ‘political’ blog. Fireproof was released in theaters recently and is a movie you will want to see. It deals with the type of marital conflicts that I have talked with couples about for years; stress, conflict, values, intimacy, work, etc. Joyfully, it diverges from the typical film describing a marriage with problems and shows how one couple overcomes their difficulties by applying Christian values. Boomer has touched on a topic that is important to me. I understand that the media wants to be reflective of cultural issues to maintain relevance. However, film and television too often stop being a mirror and start trying to drive and shape cultural attitudes. I work with teens on a daily basis and this charge to manipulate gender identities is hurtful. Read this article and leave a comment.
Fox TV’s “House”, Bisexuals, and Propaganda
This is Olivia Wilde who appears on Fox Television’s hit series “House”. For some strange reason, I enjoy watching this show about an angry man with a god complex. Go figure. Read more... (estimated 47 secs)

Boomer in the Pew has a great article on the upcoming AZ vote on marriage.
On November 4, Arizonans have the opportunity to say YES for marriage by voting YES on Proposition 102. Prop 102 is 20 simple and clear words that define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. It’s that simple:
“Only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in this state.”
