The National Right to Life Committee continues to challenge Barack Obama for his stance on abortion and his roll in the Illinois, Born-Alive Infants Protection Act. One should reasonably ask, “What did the BAIPA do?”

It established in black-letter law that for all legal purposes, any baby who was entirely expelled from his or her mother, and who showed any of the specified signs of life (breathes or has a beating heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles), was to be regarded as a legal person for however long he or she lived, and that this applied whether or not the birth was the result of an abortion or of spontaneous premature labor. ACORN’s Voter registration efforts have been at the center of fraud allegations in as many as 15 states. Democrats have tried to deflect these allegations. Matt Griffin, Nevada’s deputy secretary of state for elections, said, “An ongoing probe in Nevada into the group responsible for collecting the registrations, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, has not led investigators to believe anyone will try to vote illegally on Nov. 4. We’re talking registration fraud; it’s not voter fraud,” Griffin went on to say. “But we have a duty to follow up.” ACORN offices in Nevada have been raided by the FBI. Read more... Give me a break.
The Democratic Underground says wearing white is racist. Harry Reid says pointing out that Franklin Raines is an Obama insider is racist. Congressman Greg Meeks says that drawing attention to the fact that Barack Obama is a Socialist is racist. Questioning the role of Bill Ayers in Obama’s political career is racist. Identifying a conflict of interest for the VP debate moderator is racist. Believing that people without the ability to pay for mortgage should not have one is apparently racist. Read more... We just loaned them $85 Billion. But that wasn’t enough.
Everyone. Together now. “I told you so!”
The Federal Reserve announced Wednesday it was lending billions of additional funds to cash-strapped American International Group Inc.
Under the program, the New York Federal Reserve Bank will provide $37.8 billion in additional cash to certain domestic life insurance subsidiaries of AIG in return for investment-grade, fixed-income securities.
AIG already has an $85 billion line of credit with the Fed. As of last week, AIG had used $60 billion of this loan, according to Fed data. Read more... (estimated 38 secs)

It looks like Waxman and the Democrats are trying to downplay their role in the subprime debacle. It is time for all the cards to be placed on the table and let the chips fall where they may. Democrats, Republicans, insiders, outsiders. Whatever!
Whoever is as fault for this should be prosecuted and publically, and pilitcally, humiliated. This is the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression and our politicians are doing what they do best. Play politics. Read more... (estimated 43 secs)

I stumbled across a wonderfu blog that you may enjoy. This article on the National Organization of Women and their endorsement of Barack Obama and virulent criticism of Sarah Palin captures my feelings on the subject.
NOW has evolved into a group that is devoted to liberal causes that affect women rather than all causes that affect women. The “National Organization of Women” should be composed of ALL women regardless of their particular view on a particular issue. Instead, they focus on only a few issues and take a liberal view. Conservatives are clearly not welcome. Read more... (estimated 1:18 mins)

My favorite line from the debate goes to Sarah Palin – “Nice to meet you. Hey, can I call you Joe?” After ‘Barak’ talked to ‘John’ in the first debate I thought it was a lovely, but subtle, jab.
Second favorite line also goes to Sarah – “It is so obvious that I am a Washington outsider,” Palin says, “someone just not used to the way you guys operate” as she points out Joe Biden’s attempt to double-talk his way to Obama’s position. Read more... (estimated 1:01 mins)

The bailout was killed by House Democrats. Yes, Democrats. Losing by a margin of 228-205, the measure only needed 12 members to change their minds.
95 Democrats voted against the bill.
Quit blaming John McCain for failure to keep your majority, in the majority.

How did the Treasury Department arrive at a figure of $700 billion for the bailout? Surely it was based on careful analysis and a detailed methodology.
Nope. They guessed. They just pulled a number out of thin air. They made it up.
In fact, some of the most basic details, including the $700 billion figure Treasury would use to buy up bad debt, are fuzzy.
“It’s not based on any particular data point,” a Treasury spokeswoman told Forbes.com Tuesday. “We just wanted to choose a really large number.” Read more... (estimated 35 secs)

Leaders lead. It may not be apparent when the water is calm and the breezes are gentle. Life is good and any pretender can clamor up the hill and proclaim their virtue.
When the sky darkens and the wind bites at our backs though, actors tumble down the hill. They hesitate. They overt-think. They circle the wagons in uncertainty.
A politician can declare that he is a leader. His political party can declare that he’s a leader. And hundreds of thousands of acolytes around the world can swoon devotedly at his feet, and he can rack up all the trappings of leadership. But none of that in fact makes him into a leader if he actually isn’t one. Read more... (estimated 1:24 mins)
