Quotes from Thomas Jefferson -
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world. Read more... (estimated 27 secs)

It seemed as if the entire nation turned out for the inauguration of Barack Obama. After a hotly contested election, even some ardent conservatives have been swept up in the tide of enthusiasm. Commentators and pundits struggled for new and creative ways to say, “Historic.” Preceded by the standard array of parties and gatherings, accompanied by the pomp and pageantry befitting the office, at 12:05 today, Barack Obama completed the oath of office as President of the United States. People that will not learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat the mistakes and fail to take advantage of the wise choices.
The Obama Administration is confusing correlation and causation when it come to the Clinton tax hikes. Obama does not realize that the economy grew in spite of the policies not because of them.
Someone should remind the incoming President of the explosion of technology that took place from 1990-1995. This growth was a tidal wave. Clinton’s taxes did not cause it but neither could they stop it. Unless America experiences another such serendipity, the Obama tax plan will plunge the country into a dark depression. Read more... Russia did not wait six months to test President-elect Obama according to PJ.
Former Spook, an ex-intelligence analyst, described Russia’s deployment of SS-26 Iskander to Kaliningrad as a “shot across the bow” of the incoming administration. The purpose of these missiles was to threaten to destroy components of the planned US anti-missile defense shield in to be based in Poland. The SS-26s themselves are fired from mobile launchers and designed to launch “effective missile strikes at small-size targets of particular importance” on very short notice. Russian President Dimitry Medvedev also said that Russia “plans to jam a radar located in the Czech Republic, used to detect in-bound missiles and guide the Polish-based interceptors.” Read more... My daughter wrote a wonderful note to her friends. She pointed out that after the last election, bumper stickers began to appear proclaiming, “Bush is not my President.” As Christians, she said, we have a responsibility to support and encourage our leaders. This seems especially true when we did not vote for them.
While I will continue to speak out on issues from a biblical worldview, along with my wonderful Stephanie, I affirm that Barack Obama is my President and I will pray for him regularly.
Take a look at the recent letter from the Presidential Prayer Team. Read more... (estimated 2:07 mins)

Barack Obama has been elected the new President of the United States. While I continue to have doubts, concerns and issues about the change that is coming to America, I will pray for our new leader. Sadly, I have already heard from some folks that they plan to fight him every step of the way.
I will follow Mr. Obama closely as he acts on campaign promises and makes decisions on matters raised during the election cycle. If he seeks to repeal protections for unborn babies I will certainly oppose him. If he seeks, as he promised, to streamline government and eliminate wasteful spending he will have my support. Other issues, such as Islamic fanatacism, defending Israel, government spending, healthcare, taxes, will arise and I will participate in the process. Read more... (estimated 47 secs)

The recent Obama Infomercial was polished, poignant and compelling. It is everything you would expect from what may be considered the most hip media campaign in history. However, the abundance of style could not cover up the lack of substance. Obama has repeatedly made promises and accusations that have gone largely unchecked until now.
Obama is not telling the truth says Calvin Woodward of AP.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office. Read more... (estimated 2:03 mins)

One of the big lies during the third debate came on the topic of abortion. McCain said that Obama’s position on the issue is radical, including his repeated opposition to the Illinois version of the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act. Obama responded this way:
There was a bill that was put forward before the Illinois Senate that said you have to provide lifesaving treatment and that would have helped to undermine Roe v. Wade. The fact is that there was already a law on the books in Illinois that required providing lifesaving treatment, which is why not only myself but pro-choice Republicans and Democrats voted against it. The Cleveland Leader is reporting that Barack Obama is trying to cover-up his relationship with ACORN. Early Thursday morning they said:
Attempts to hide evidence of Obama’s involvement with ACORN have included wiping the web clean of potentially damaging articles that had appeared, and were previously publicly accessible. Unfortunately, those behind the attempted cover-up failed to realize that in today’s day and age, nothing disappears forever. There also exists another layer of the web, the hidden web, which is full of information included in proprietary scholarly databases where these very same “missing” articles can be easily uncovered.
