Last weeks power-grab by President Obama and the Democrats is unprecedented. Even the European Union is taking notice calling it “one of the most astounding power grabs in modern history.” EUTimes.net also describes Obama as the most secretive in history. I hardly a year, Obama has led the American government in socialist style takeovers of the auto industry, banking, and mortgages.
I do not doubt that our healthcare system needs regulation and it needs realignment; perhaps massively so. When people use the emergency room as their primary source of medical care things are seriously out of whack. Read more... (estimated 3:55 mins)

Quotes from Thomas Jefferson -
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.

The Wall Street Journal has an excellent article that reflects my concerns over the Democrats persistent use of the race card. I am exhausted by the repetitive, unsubstantiated charges of racism against John McCain’s campaign specifically and Republicans in general. Anyone not voting for Obama must be a racist.
Things are supposed to be looking rosy for Democrats this November. But in case Barack Obama loses the Presidency, an excuse is all ready to go: America’s too racist to elect a black man. Not even, in his Vice Presidential pick Joe Biden’s inimitable description, one so “articulate and bright and clean.” Read more... (estimated 1:16 mins)

I am praying that over 150,000,000 people will register and vote in this election season. The opportunity to vote is both a right and a privilege. With the advent of the Internet, online voter registration is easier than ever. While concerns over voter fraud have attorneys piling up the fees, it should not keep anyone away from the polls. You should register online and vote.
Several sites are listed below that show how to register online to vote. Voter registration websites can be just as partisan as our political parties. I have tried to be fair and balanced by including Republicans, Democrats and Others. Read more... (estimated 30 secs)

ACORN’s Voter registration efforts have been at the center of fraud allegations in as many as 15 states. Democrats have tried to deflect these allegations. Matt Griffin, Nevada’s deputy secretary of state for elections, said, “An ongoing probe in Nevada into the group responsible for collecting the registrations, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, has not led investigators to believe anyone will try to vote illegally on Nov. 4. We’re talking registration fraud; it’s not voter fraud,” Griffin went on to say. “But we have a duty to follow up.” ACORN offices in Nevada have been raided by the FBI. Read more... Only in the weird world of Quantum Mechanics can math like this be explained. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, an independent, group analyzed Obama’s tax and spending plans.
They result in a net increase of spending of $281 billion.
The claim that, “Actually I’m cutting more than I’m spending so that it will be a net spending cut” is totally false.
How did the morning shows in the MSM confront this? They ignored it.
NewsBusters highlights this problem while AP takes issue with both candidates on factual errors.

I posted a lengthy article about the appropriateness of Gwen Ifill serving as moderator for the VP debate. She has a real, not just apparent, conflict of interest with her new book lauding the “Age of Obama.” Liberals would never accept this conflict if the situation was reversed. Say if Rush Limbaugh were hosting a debate.
I have come to accept the Liberal bias of the MSM and recognize that we must live with it. The ongoing double standard still did not set well with me.
That said, Gwen seemed to be fair and balanced in her demeanor and questions. Read more... (estimated 30 secs)

The Democrats have been denying that they are the primary cause of the Fannie and Freddie fiascos. Even Bill Clinton admits that there needed to be greater regulatory controls and key Dems consistently fought against them. Listen to Cal Thomas:
When Speaker Nancy Pelosi took to the floor of the House on Monday to blame Republicans for the financial turmoil and charge them with a laissez-fare attitude toward regulation, it seemed like a calculated effort to shift attention and accountability from what Democrats have done to create the current conditions. Fortunately, we have YouTube. Read more... (estimated 55 secs)

I suggest we ask Rush Limbaugh to ‘moderate’ the next Presidential Debate. He does not have a book coming out on McCain. He has been a harsh critic of McCain at times. While he is a vocal conservative, he would add a good balance to the the line-up of Moderators we have this season. Compare him to Gwen Ifill.
Gwen Ifill is a partisan supporter of Barack Obama. As one writer described her, Ifill is so far in the Obama tank, she needs an oxygen line. She has book coming out that is nothing short of glowing in her admiration for the Senator. she has followed him on the campaign trail and written a piece for Essence that defines the term “Puff.” Read more... Why did 94 Democrats vote against the bailout? Take a look at Bill Dyer’s analysis:
I thought it was bad enough that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had made a deliberate decision not to make today’s vote on the Democrat’s economic stabilization bill a “party loyalty” vote in which the House Democratic leadership made absolutely clear that it expected loyal Democrats to vote in favor of the bill. Ignoring all of the immense power to persuade that inheres in the position of Speaker of the House, Speaker Pelosi wouldn’t even offer (or threaten to withhold) so much as a choice Capitol parking spot to make up the 12-vote margin between victory and defeat of H.R. 3997, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008.
