You need a theology that is consistent with mainstream science, or you risk being irrelevant. This means you have to toss out most of the Bible as a game of telephone, aggrandizement, and folklore. Lovely work of fiction however!
On the contrary, my need is to conform my theology to God’s Word and not your worldview. Relevance is not the goal of my life.
The concept of “mainstream” is interesting given that is so rapidly changing. Were you aware that there are hundreds of thousands of men and women with graduate degrees (Masters and Doctorate in case you did not know) in hard sciences like chemistry, physics, and biology that believe life is too complicated for random, chemical, biological evolution to adequately account for life?
