Wasn't Jesus involved in politics? For sure, His teachings were all over political issues. I think if more Christians were involved in politics, the nation wouldn't be dealing with gay marriage. Abortion would be about as rare as separating twins. States wouldn't be trying to legalize prostitution and porn wouldn't be a multi-billion dollar industry.

I believe that Satan is pretty well satisfied with America right now. We’re on autopilot so he can sit back and watch as the Pits of Hell rush forward. The majority of us who are saved seem content in our salvation. We give our weekly donation, go to Church (as long as it doesn’t interfere with a football game or shopping trip), sometimes we pray, and maybe read a few pages out of the Bible. All the while, the politicians and judges who create laws are listening to those with the loudest voices (which, by the way, is NOT the Christians.

How can we NOT get involved in politics? My kids can’t pledge allegiance to the flag hundreds of thousands have fought and died for, but they are forced to learn about the outrageously mad (and utterly false) teachings of Darwinism. They can go to school and check out the latest books on homosexuals, but just try and find a Bible on the library shelves. It just kills me to see where we started as a nation and where we are now and where we might be going.

What caused this lethargy? Is the water that we drink drugged? Subliminal messages sent through the airwaves? Maybe it’s like a virus that is spread from home to home, and like a horror film, we are all turned into zombies, except the real horror is that we don’t realize it. Christians are concerned. I am sure of that just by reading all the blogs and books (and I admit to being one of the worst). But being concerned isn’t enough. Had Christ just been “concerned”, we would all still be under the Law of Moses. It took an action, His death, to save us all.

Lawrence, if God called you to go into the missionary fields of Africa, don’t you think you’d go? Well, maybe your missionary field is a running for an office?

I was just having a conversation with my wife about whether it is our responsibility as a Christian to get involved in politics and public service. I am still thinking about it but I am glad I found your site.

I haven't heard the program, but for the life of me, I can't understand why so many people think the bailout is such a great idea.
