al-GAYda – eHarmony Settles

eharmony al GAYda eHarmony Settles

It appears eHarmony will have to change their entire business model in the face of lawsuits charging them with discrimination. eHarmony has been sued by a lesbian woman seeking to be matched with another women as well as a married man seeking an adulterous match. The latest lawsuit is a class-action suit in … California.

Neil Clark Warren, company founder, has repeatedly stated that he did not know enough about homosexual relationships to confidently match people together.

To be clear: The company never refused to do business with anyone. Their great “sin” was not providing a specialized service that litigious gay people demanded they provide. This case is akin to a meat-eater suing a vegetarian restaurant for not offering him a ribeye or a female patient suing a vasectomy doctor for not providing her hysterectomy services.

As fringe groups continue to demand not only the opportunity to make their own lifestyle choices but actually cram them down the throats of the rest of us, our “Great Society” will suffer.

…Under terms of the agreement with the New Jersey attorney general’s office, eHarmony Inc. will start the service, called Compatible Partners, by March 31.

“With the launch of the Compatible Partners site, our policy is to welcome all single individuals who are genuinely seeking long-term relationships,” said Antone Johnson, eHarmony vice president of legal affairs.

The company and its founder, Neil Clark Warren, admit no wrongdoing or liability.

“Even though we believed that the complaint resulted from an unfair characterization of our business, we ultimately decided it was best to settle this case with the attorney general, since litigation outcomes can be unpredictable,” eHarmony attorney Theodore B. Olson said.

Ted Olsen is a great defense attorney so he must think thank this settlement is best that can be attained. I am surprised that they did not take the case to trial but do not know all the details.

I continue to advocate Christian marriage as the standard which benefits our society most as well as honoring Scripture.

I’m speachless. Just when you think it can’t get any worse…

2008-11-21 13:12:28

That’s the problem. These people don’t want equal rights, they want special rights.

Echoing the comments above, they do not want equal rights, but rather special rights. As long as they get what they want, they don’t care about the rest of us.

These people are in a full blown movement to take away our rights! Do not be deceived and think it’s just wanting extra rights, which it is but it’s much more than that. They want to squash Christianity and/or anyone who calls their sin – sin!

Look at what they did to Sally Kern. They tried their hardest to demonize her, but she did not cave to them – she fought and she won.

People do not back down to these thugs! That’s what they are… we could call them brown shirts.

When will this madness cease? Homosexuals think that the majority of Americans accept them as normal, but the truth is that we don’t, we have learned to tolerate them. We have decided that what they do behind close doors is there business.

I think that if homosexuals want to be taken seriously they have to stop trying to cram their lifestyle down our throats (no pun intended). ABC’s Grays Anatomy is a perfect example. There are gay relationships on shows all the time now, but the unexpected make out kiss on the season finale last year between two female doctors really hurt them.

ABC has dropped the story line now this season because the ratings were suffering. My wife and I were loyal viewers until last seasons nonsense occurred.

I support Warren and if this lawsuit was filed anywhere else it would have most probably been dropped. Great article Dr. Bruce.

Hello All,

eHarmony did not want to lose out on mammon. They did not want economically to confine themselves to helping match only heterosexuals. Greed goes hand-in-hand with sexual depravity.

What people do in the privacy of their bedrooms impacts the whole of society. Homosexuality is harmful. It is not benign. It causes all sorts of physical and psychological/ spiritual harm: “Homosexuals: What they ignore.” (See also: Category: Homosexuality: Harmless or Harmful)

The homosexuals have been spreading outright lies about the effects of homosexual behavior. It is wrong to engage in homosexuality. It’s not some arbitrary rule from God that just must be accepted without rhyme or reason.

I’m not for coercing them to stop, but I stand for telling the truth about the clear harm done by homosexuality.

All the homosexuals claiming that nothing bad will come of their coming to the fore will not be vindicated. They will be shown to have been misled and misleading. Of that there can be no doubt.

We can’t stop the blind from following the blind into the ditch. Jesus is right about that. We know that.

Let us focus on speaking the whole demonstrable truth and letting the truth handle things. It is the power. It is real love.

The more we speak truth, the better.

Blessings,

Can eHarmony find a rich woman (at least $100-million net worth) to take care of me in the lifestyle I wish to get accustomed to?

Okay, I’m going to take a chance here and assume people can be mature and listen to what I say without the use of hateful or derogatory comments to me.

First of all, I’m am very openly homosexual and am not ashamed to admit it to anyone. I respect your opinion that you strongly condemn homosexuality and believe you have every right to. I don’t ask you to accept me or support me, but I do ask that you treat me as a human being.

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12)

I find it stupid and ignorant of those people angry with eHarmony not offering homosexual matches. People should no way be obligated to go out of their way to please the homosexual community. It would be a good economic decision to offer homosexual matching in this case, but there are plenty of other websites out there dedicated to help homosexuals find relationships.

I, as well as a large majority of the homosexual community, believe in equality and in no way demand “special” rights. I believe that if a woman has the right to marry a man, then a man should have that right to (and vice verse). That’s equality, something this nation was founded on. I believe that if certain Churches choose not to perform homosexual marriages, that is completely within their rights. However, all legal rights that come with marriage should be honored to homosexual couples in a committed relationship.

I don’t believe in “civil unions”. Marriage is a word in the English language and therefore cannot belong to any certain group of people. There is no reason the definition cannot be changed. It has been before. Remember back when marriage only could be between white men and white women? Changing the definition to a union between two consenting adults would in no way change heterosexual marriages or make them less valuable. (If anything it’s Britney Spear’s and others who’s marriages last less than a week who’s ruining what marriage is all about.)

I know most of your readers and probably yourself are going to disagree with everything I just said. I just wanted to voice my opinion and let you know that there is a large group of homosexuals who in no way want to “shove our lifestyle down your throat” as it has been put. We want equality in a nation that’s supposed to be “free”.

Peace and Love to all…
Keep preaching the good word of Jesus Christ, because the Bible is far from the “evil word of a hateful God” that most non-Christians think it is.

“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.” (Matthew 5:11)

Ok my opinion on this is simply this! I do not feel E Harmony should have to cater to someone wanting to have a adulterous relationship in any form. As to the Lesbian woman wanting to find a partner I can understand why is it ok for a straight couple to seek each other out but it is not ok to allow the gay and lesbian community to also have those same rights!

I know alot of people will not agree with me but as the mother a lesbian I have to agree with the Californian Woman

“who do these people say think they are?”

“I think that if homosexuals want to be taken seriously they have to stop trying to cram their lifestyle down our throats (no pun intended).”

“Homosexuality is harmful. It is not benign. It causes all sorts of physical and psychological/ spiritual harm”

Should I add more ‘filth’ to this. I would if I had the time. This is clearly not christians values. yes, I protest loudly due to the ignorance and the cowards that hide behind their own homophobia and blame it on the church. this is NOT what God teaches us.

Oh by the way, I may be reading too much into it, but what is with the ad on your site? the ad targets gay men, its called an ‘homoerotic’ image. YOu protest against homosexuality, then run an ad like this. hmmmmmmm im starting to understand you more now Dr. Bruce. God bless.

oh, as for ‘protest too loudly’..lol. This is not my blog Im protesting on, its yours. You took the time to actually write about it. I dont have one post in my blog that is offensive to our brothers and sisters. You tell me who has more christian values? Someone who clearly allows this type of filith on their blog, which preaches hatred, or someone who would just delete this kind of hate from their blog.

Now were talking about faith and facts.

John,
I have to agree with Dr. Bruce. You are protesting entirely too much. What he has written is not filth, but a post which questions why a homosexual feels the need to force eHarmony to provide a service which it doesn’t feel it is qualified to provide.

Dr. Bruce, myself, and others do not have a problem with homosexuals living their chosen lifestyle, even though we do not agree with their decision. It is a free country, after all. However, when the homosexual movement insists on accusing a company like eHarmony of discrimination, when it is no such thing, then they need to be called out on that tactic.

By the way, kudos to xPirate for stating himself clearly and without hate.

I am talking about the comments that came after the post. If you read my last post, i highlighted the quotes which are ‘filth’. I have no problem with Dr. Bruce’s opinion, but the comments that came after it. If this was my site, I would have deleted the majority of them on my blog due to the ‘hate’ it clearly is stating.

I have no problem with people hating gay people, everyone has their opinion, but to claim he is a christian and to allow these types of a comments that are not christian based, makes me wonder what this blog is about.

” By the way, kudos to xPirate for stating himself clearly and without hate.”

Clearly, i am not surehow clearer I can be, the comments to this post are ‘filth’. I never wrote anywhere that I hated these folks. However, its views that are written on a christiam blog, clearly are about hate. Clearly you havnt read the comments, but if you did, you can see why some would be a little pist off.

xPirate,

Just wanted to say, with Dr. B, that I appreciate the tone of your comment. I believe homosexuality is wrong, in the same way that I believe any other sinful behavior is wrong.

But I completely agree with you, that you (and everyone else who has chosen a sinful lifestyle) have every right to be treated and spoken to with kindness.

I would go one step further and say what I think is the kindest thing that I could say to you or anyone else, for that matter. That is, I would simply like to urge you to turn away from your sin (repent) and put your faith in the only one who can save any of us from the awful penalty and power of our sin.

Blessings to you.
