Just before visiting the crash site of United Airlines Flight 93, the family of Patricia Cushing, 69, and her sister-in-law Jane Folger, 73, decided at last to hold a memorial service. They are still unsure when, if ever, they will receive their relatives’ remains.
“Some don’t want anything to turn up. Others don’t want to leave anything `out there,’” said Patricia Cushing’s son David. “We knew pretty much that if there were going to be any remains, it wasn’t going to be for a while.”

This is why people are fed up with politicians of both parties. After lying under oath, Clinton now plays the ‘truth’ card.
“Bill Clinton: “I think they ought to tell the truth…I just want people to tell the truth.” Since when, exactly? Was that part of the plea agreement that brought about the former president’s five year suspension of his law license for knowingly making false statements under oath? ….”

I just read the letter from House Democrats to Robert Iger, CEO of Disney, demanding that ABC edit/censor “Path to 9/11.” Representatives Conyers, Dingell, Harman and Slaughter acknowledge that while they have not actually seen the mini-series but they are concerned it might have some innaccuracies in it.
I will be writing to thank them for their unflinching commitment to truth. Further, I will be requesting a copy of their letter to Michael Moore as he was getting ready to release “Fahrenheit 911.“

ABC is now the PR arm of the ‘Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy.’ Surely hell has frozen over. According to Blog for America, ABC, arguably the most liberal news and television network, is committed to teaching right-wing propaganda with its new mini-series, “Path to 9/11.”
Are we talking about the same ABC that fawned over Michael Moore and his biased ball of lies? The same ABC whose news anchor, Peter Jennings, stated on-air that he hoped fans booed President Bush in the World Series just after the 9/11 attacks?

Members of Clinton administration are putting enormous pressure on ABC to rewrite or kill their mini-series, “Path to 9/11.” Previewers have called the series a “docudrama” on the one hand and a “deeply serious” portrayal of events leading up to 9/11.
Which is it? Tune in next week. You can be somewhat assured that someone is rewriting history.

Democratic candidate for state auditor Jeff Armijo withdrew his nomination on August 30. Two different women have accused Armijo of sexual harrassment. One charge was filed in August 2006 and the other in 2003. After meeting with Gov. Bill Richardson and other party leaders Armijo agreed it was best to withdraw. Gov. Richardson immediately suggested that a replacement candidate would be committed to the highest ethical standards.
Oops! says Armijo. ‘I didn’t really mean to withdraw.’ In fact, he now wants back in the race less than a week after withdrawing.
We really need better candidates to run to for both state and federal office.

I abhor Clinton-bashers and Bush-bashers alike. Bill Clinton neither did everything right nor everything wrong. Geroge Bush has not done everything right or everything wrong.
The prevailing attitude in partisan politics is that “my guy” can do anything and I will defend him but “your guy” is always wrong no matter what he does. This is just nonsense. People should learn to actually think and not just follow the crowd blindly. Shouldn’t we hold all politicians to the same high standard regardless of whether they are in our preferred party or not?

Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, died in what has been described as a freak accident. At about 11 a.m. local time on September 4, Irwin was filming a new wildlife series and got too close to a bull stingray. Irwin had many close calls over the years. In his words, “Too many to count.” This one cost him his life. The ray’s barbed tail pierced his heart.
The accident occured in north Queensland Australia as Irwin and his crew swam near the Great Barrier Reef. The crew was swimming in less than seven feet of water as Irwin cruised along side the stingray. The normally placid stingray turned suddenly and lashed out at the Crocodile Hunter. The injury was like a knife wound in Irwin’s chest.
